The Delivery Driver/Helper is responsible for conducting daily inspections, maintaining the delivery truck and equipment, ensuring accurate documentation, adhering to safety protocols, and providing efficient delivery services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts daily inspections of the delivery truck, ensuring it is in proper working condition.
- Safely stores and maintains truck tools and equipment and cleans the entire truck, with special attention given to the exhaust pipe.
- Observes and complies with traffic rules, regulations, parking guidelines, and other safety protocols within the company premises and at client locations.
- Operates warehouse machinery and equipment, such as jack pallets, as required.
- Verifies the details in the Sales Invoice/Delivery Receipt against the actual stock before loading, ensuring accuracy in delivery order transactions, product labeling, and Delivery Trip Tickets.
- Ensures that the assigned truck always carries an Acknowledgement Receipt (AR) and Collection Receipt (CR) booklet before departure from the warehouse.
- Assists with stock unloading whenever necessary, acting as a helper.
- Submits daily expense liquidation reports to the Delivery Officer.
- Ensures the correct number of the returned item(s) by the customers and have them sign the SI/DR with their printed name and date before leaving the customer premises.
- Ensures daily check of the SI against the trip ticket before leaving the dispatching bay with the assigned vehicle for delivery.
- Maintains constant communication with the delivery supervisor, providing updates on location and progress.
- Reports any incidents or accidents encountered using the provided Incident Report.
- Attends the 0500h trip for all drivers in the case of high delivery volume.
- Reports any incidents or accidents encountered using the provided Incident Report, and includes remarks on the Delivery Trip Ticket when delays of deliveries occur.
- Immediately reports any discrepancies upon the check collection from the customer.
- Immediately reports any case of excess or shortage in the quantity of products to be served. Documents any excesses or shortages on the SI, ensuring customer acknowledgement and alignment with the remarks in the trip ticket.
- Prepares accurate freight waybills for transportation companies (e.g., Victory Liner, Partas, Florida), including the correct terminal destination, number of cartons, company name/contact person, and contact numbers.
- Assists the Warehouse Stock Controller in loading products onto the truck.
- Provides backup support to the Delivery Officer during emergencies.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by immediate superiors to support overall operational efficiency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Senior High School Graduate or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with restriction codes for operating delivery trucks.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, demonstrating knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic regulations.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to handle manual tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in verifying documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, routes, and delivery demands.
- Familiarity with using GPS devices or navigation systems to optimize delivery routes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Problem-solving skills to address any unexpected challenges during deliveries.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is advantageous.
