Thank You! These words defined how I feel as I am writing this now; though I know that my “thank you” is not enough to express how grateful I am, to be a scholar of Simplicio Gamboa Sr. Foundation.
As I was about to enter my 4th year in college, I was given the privilege to be an SGS scholar. I have never thought that I would become part of the SGS Foundation family. Honestly, it was not that easy to be admitted to the SGS Scholarship program. It was a long process from the preliminary screening thru text messages, to the preparation of requirements, and finally the interview; but I can say that all the efforts are really worth it, because for me, it is the best scholarship I can have as a Bachelor of Elementary Education student in my school.
The SGS Scholarship helped me in my financial needs, especially for the additional expenses required during the last year in college such as new sets of uniforms for Practice Teaching, transportation to and from both the Practice Teaching site and my College, etc. Without the scholarship, my parents would have to borrow from the loan sharks for me to finish college. The Scholarship inspired me to study harder and it boosted my self-esteem. Being an SGS Scholar taught me not to be contented with just whatever grades I can get, but to push myself to a higher level to maintain higher grades and be worthy of the scholarship that I was granted.
I thank Don Simplicio Gamboa Sr. for his legacy of helping financially challenged but academically capable students. SGS Foundation is an instrument used by our Dear Father Almighty in helping us. I thank the people behind the Foundation for their generosity; and for their patience in trying to develop each one of us to be the best that we can be. May your love and dedication continue to be an inspiration to more SGS scholars. Thank you again and may God bless us all.
